I have a dishwasher which does not have a function to delay start its operation, it is not that old, like 8 years old from . Is there any possibility to do that with Aqara devices like Aqara plugs? has anyone have done this before
All dishwashers I’ve ever seen have membrane switches or tactile buttons that don’t latch, so using a plug won’t help as it won’t retain the setting.
You’d have to use a device that would physically press the button for you. I’m not aware of Aqara making anything like that. I believe SwitchBot makes one, but I don’t have experience using it.
Thanks, I will check SwitchBot, the issue is that when the door to the dishwasher are closed no device can have access to the buttons!
I have a question, if the industrial network goes down while the machine is running, what happens when the industrial network is restored? Depending on your answer, I will give you a hint.
It really depends on your dishwasher.
Quick test:
Set everything up, start it, and then immediately pull the plug or flip the breaker. The machine will stop, of course. Now plug it back in.
- If it continues the cycle where it left off — congrats, it will also work with an Aqara smart plug and you can schedule it.
- If it just sits there blinking at you, then unfortunately… no luck.
Think of it as the “pull-the-plug” compatibility test — quick, easy, and possibly a little dramatic for the dishwasher.

If the buttons are not accessible when the door is closed, a SwitchBot button pusher will not work.
Even if it worked by controlling it through a smart plug, I’m not sure if this is a good idea for the longevity of the dishwasher?
