Hey everyone, I’m trying to figure out a way to programmatically determine if my wife goes to work. We’re an iOS family and already use WiFi, HE geofencing, etc., to track when she arrives and departs from home. However, I’m looking for a more reliable method that can integrate seamlessly with our existing smart home setup.
I’ve heard about using geofencing with Apple’s HomeKit, but I’m curious if there are other innovative solutions out there. Maybe something with smart cameras or motion sensors? I’m also wondering if there’s a way to automate notifications or routines based on her departure.
For example, if she leaves for work, I’d love to have the lights dim, the thermostat adjust, and maybe even send a quick message to my phone. But I need a system that’s both accurate and doesn’t require constant manual input.
Has anyone successfully implemented a similar setup? I’m open to suggestions, whether it’s using existing apps or custom scripts. Any ideas or experiences you can share would be greatly appreciated!
