How to Display Weather Icons on Your Govee Watch: A Simple Guide

Hey everyone! I just wanted to share a quick tip that might help some of you out there. I recently got a Govee watch, and one feature I really wanted to use was the weather display. At first, I was a bit confused about how to get the weather icons to show up properly, but after some fiddling, I figured it out!

So, here’s what I did:

  1. Check the Font Settings: I noticed that the weather icons weren’t showing up because the font wasn’t set correctly. I went into the watch settings and changed the font to ‘Bitmap Default.’ It turns out this font supports the weather icons!

  2. Adjust the Weather Tag: In the text field, I made sure to use the [WTHR_COND] tag correctly. Sometimes, if the tag isn’t placed properly, the icons won’t display. Double-checking the placement helped me get it right.

  3. Test Different Fonts: If the icons still don’t show up, try switching between ‘TT’ and ‘Bitmap Default’ fonts. Sometimes, one works better than the other depending on the watch model.

  4. Clear Cache and Reset: If you’re still having issues, try clearing the watch’s cache or performing a soft reset. This can often resolve display-related problems.

It’s such a neat feature once it’s working! The weather icons make checking the forecast so much quicker. Plus, it adds a nice touch to the overall design of the watch face.
