I have the Aqara Panel Hub S1 Plus EU (model MP-K03D) and want to sideload an APK via ADB (wireless debugging) to turn it into an advanced control center for Home Assistant.
Issue: The standard Android method (Settings > About > 7-10x tap on Firmware Version) doesn’t work – no “About” section or Firmware Version to tap. Developer Options won’t unlock.
Device details:
Firmware version: 4.5.30_0036.0017
Region: EU
Aqara Home app: 6.1.0
Tried:
Settings > Advanced settings – no Developer/Debug options.
Firmware update – already on latest.
Questions:
How to exactly enable Developer Options on S1 Plus? Is there a different method than standard Android?
Does this model support Wireless ADB debugging over network (from laptop)?
Is there a safe way to sideload APKs without root (e.g., for HA kiosk mode)?

Regarding your questions:
Developer Options & ADB Debugging:
The Aqara Panel Hub S1 Plus EU is a customized Android-based device designed specifically for smart home control within the Aqara ecosystem. For security and stability reasons, Developer Options and ADB debugging are not supported on this device. The standard Android methods (e.g., tapping firmware version) do not apply here, as the system interface is heavily modified for dedicated functionality.
Sideloading APKs:
The device does not support sideloading third-party APKs (such as Home Assistant kiosk mode) due to hardware/software restrictions. Unauthorized modifications may void the warranty or cause system instability.
Alternative Solutions:
For Home Assistant integration, you may explore Aqara’s official HomeKit support (enabled via the Home app, displaying as 2 relay switches and 6 wireless switches).
Voice control via Aqara Copilot (wake word: “Hi, Aqara”) is also available for device management.
If you need further clarification or encounter other issues, feel free to share more details (e.g., screenshots of the settings menu). We’re here to help!
Have a great day!
