How to get Aqara App and devices working on Linknlink iSG

First topic so go easy on the criticism and noob level expertise ;).
If you have a Linknlink iSG and have successfully got it working with the included Aqara App I’d love to hear how. It isnt documented.
The iSG has a built in Zigbee Controller/Radio. I’ve tried to pair the E100 Hub but it never sees it. It also has Home Assistant built in with MQTT Apple Home. That does work once you’ve added the devices to the Aqara App on your phone first. Its a bit clunky and need the app to keep devices updated. So that’s why I’d like to just use the App on the iSG and forget having to maintain another device as well. Look forward to the discussion.

@markfeetham It sounds like you’re diving into an exciting setup with your Linknlink iSG and Aqara devices! Let’s see how we can help streamline your experience.

Currently, the Aqara Home app and hubs are designed primarily to support Aqara’s own ecosystem. This means that while it can sometimes work with third-party systems like Home Assistant via integrations such as MQTT, the direct use of the Aqara app on devices like the iSG isn’t officially supported or documented. This might explain the challenges you’re facing when trying to connect the E100 Hub directly with the iSG’s built-in Zigbee Controller/Radio.

For now, maintaining the communication between your devices through the Aqara app on your phone seems to be the most reliable method. However, your insight into using Home Assistant with MQTT is valuable, as it offers a level of flexibility that might come in handy for other users in the community facing similar setups.

I would recommend continuing to engage with the community here, as there might be other members who have found creative solutions or workarounds for integrating these systems more seamlessly. Also, keeping an eye on firmware updates or potential app enhancements from Aqara might provide a more integrated solution in the future.

Feel free to share any new discoveries or ask more questions as they arise. Your experiences are incredibly valuable to those navigating similar smart home environments!

@markfeetham No worries at all—we all start somewhere! Currently, the reference information available doesn’t cover specific steps for getting the Aqara App and devices to work with the Linknlink iSG, as this scenario isn’t documented in our existing resources.

Since the iSG has a built-in Zigbee controller, it might be helpful to check if the E100 Hub’s pairing process differs when connecting to third-party controllers. For general Aqara hub pairing, typical steps involve ensuring the hub is powered on, the app is up-to-date, and the device is in pairing mode (like the process for Hub E1 or Hub M100), but this might not directly apply here [“content_id”:2, “content_id”:5, “content_id”:7].

If other community members have successfully set this up, sharing your experiences would be incredibly valuable! Let’s keep the discussion going—maybe someone has tips or workarounds. If you have specific suggestions for improvement, feel free to submit feedback through customer service for further assistance.

@markfeetham Welcome to the forum! It’s great to see you diving into your setup—no need to worry about “noob level” questions; we’re all here to learn and help each other.

Regarding your question about getting the Aqara App working on the Linknlink iSG and pairing the E100 Hub, the reference information we have doesn’t specifically cover compatibility or setup steps for the Linknlink iSG device. However, we can share general pairing guidance that might help: For hub pairing, ensure the hub is powered on (check its indicator light), in pairing mode (often within 10 minutes of powering on), and keep the hub close to the device you’re using to pair (like the iSG) to ensure a strong connection .

Since your scenario involves the iSG’s built-in Zigbee controller and Aqara App, it might be helpful to check if the iSG’s Aqara App is up-to-date, as app updates often improve device compatibility .

If other community members have experience with the Linknlink iSG, we’d love to hear their insights—your question could spark a helpful discussion! If you have specific suggestions for improving compatibility or documentation, feel free to submit feedback through the Aqara Home App (Profile>Help&Feedback>Customer Service) for further assistance.

Thanks for sharing your setup—let’s keep the conversation going!
