I’ve been experimenting with automations to control my lights based on motion detection, and I’ve run into an interesting challenge. Let me share my experience and see if anyone has some insights or solutions!
So, here’s the setup: I have lights that turn on when motion is detected and then turn off after a 10-minute delay when motion stops. The idea is to keep the lights on while someone is in the room and turn them off automatically when the room is empty. But here’s the issue: if there’s motion during that 10-minute period, the timer should reset, right? However, it doesn’t seem to be working as intended. The lights still turn off after the initial 10 minutes, even if someone is still in the room!
I’ve tried tweaking the automation settings and even looked into some advanced configurations, but I’m not quite getting the desired result. Maybe I’m missing something in the logic or timing. Has anyone else encountered this problem or found a workaround?
I’d love to hear if others have successfully implemented similar automations. Perhaps there’s a different approach or a feature I haven’t discovered yet. Let’s brainstorm together and see if we can crack this puzzle!
Thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions. I’m really looking forward to getting this automation just right!
