Hey everyone! I’ve been exploring how to set up my Nest floodlight with camera to avoid triggering during nighttime motion. I’ve got a lot of wildlife around, and while the floodlight is great for security, it’s a bit too bright and tends to wake me up unnecessarily. ![]()

I tried creating an automation but was a bit confused by the options. Initially, I thought the sleep and awake modes would do the trick, but they just dim the lights instead of completely preventing the motion sensor from activating. ![]()
After some research, I found that setting a specific time window where the motion sensor is disabled can work. I set it to deactivate from 9 PM to 7 AM. Now, the lights stay off during the night, but they’ll still activate if motion is detected during the day. ![]()

If anyone has tips or alternative solutions, I’d love to hear them! Let’s keep those floodlights smart and energy-efficient! ![]()
