How to Set Up Smart Plug to Turn Off After a Set Time

Hi everyone, I’m looking for a way to set up my smart plug to turn off automatically after a certain period. I have an elderly gentleman who often forgets to switch off his tabletop grill, which can be a safety hazard. For example, I’d like the plug to shut off after 15 minutes of being on.

I’ve checked some apps, but I’m not sure if this requires custom coding or a specific handler. I don’t have any coding experience, so I’d appreciate any advice or recommendations on reliable smart plugs that can do this.

I’ve heard about Seedan smart plugs, but they didn’t work as repeaters in my setup. I’m using Zigbee2mqtt, so I wonder if that’s the issue. Maybe someone has a plug that’s known to work well with Zigbee2mqtt and can act as a repeater.

Also, I’d love to hear about any tips or tricks for setting up such automation. Stability and reliability are crucial here, especially for something as important as monitoring a grill. If anyone has experience with similar setups, please share your insights!

Thanks in advance for your help!
