How to Stop Late-Night Gaming with Smart Home Tech

Hey everyone! I’m looking for some clever ways to prevent my 9-year-old from sneaking in some late-night gaming or YouTube sessions. This has been a challenge ever since we got him a NUC for online school during COVID. Initially, we tried restricting access and imposing punishments, but it’s been a bit of a battle. He even admitted he’s willing to face the consequences, which is pretty determined for a kid his age! We’ve tried taking away the hardware every night, but it’s a hassle and not foolproof. If we forget one night, he’s back online before sunrise. I thought about using smart outlets to cut power after a certain time, but it seems most models only control one outlet at a time, which isn’t ideal since we have multiple cords to manage.I came across some ideas about using Hubitat to automate this, but I’m not entirely sure how to set it up. Maybe there’s a way to integrate timers or motion sensors? I’m also curious if anyone has successfully used smart plugs for this exact purpose or if there are other devices that could help enforce a bedtime without constant supervision.Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated! I’m willing to invest in the right devices if it means getting some peace of mind and ensuring he gets the rest he needs. Let’s see what the community suggests!
