HRV Heat Recovery Ventilation- Dumb to Smart

Hi, i’m based in Canada and have Lifebreath HRV system in the house. It has a controller on the wall but i want to make this dumb hrv to be smart. Any suggestions? What i have in my mind is to use Aqara T2 Relay module and use it as a dry contact to achieve the boost on and off especially when my aqara air quality monitor shows high VOC/CO2. Anyone has any experience with that? Let me know.

This is an interesting idea and makes me wonder if I can do something similar to control my whole house / attic fan. I’d like to use the T2 relay to control the power to the fan after verifying that window sensors show enough windows are open when an air quality monitor shows low quality error.
