I recently stumbled upon an interesting challenge while configuring my HomeSeer HSM200 unit. It seems that the LUX and TEMP settings were reversed, which led to some unexpected behavior in my smart home setup. Initially, I set the LUX REPORT INTERVAL to 88 and the TEMPERATURE REPORT INTERVAL to 22, but the results were not as expected. The illuminance readings came in every 22 minutes, while the temperature updates only occurred every 60 minutes. This was quite puzzling, especially since the sensor was in a dark room and the Lux readings of zero were accurate.
After some experimentation, I tried lowering the intervals to 2 and 1 respectively. This resulted in illuminance updates every minute, but the temperature sensor stopped reporting within the expected timeframe. Further adjustments led me to discover that setting the LUX REPORT INTERVAL to 2 and the TEMPERATURE REPORT INTERVAL to 10 provided a more balanced solution, with illuminance updates every 10 minutes and temperature readings every 60 minutes.
This journey taught me the importance of carefully testing each configuration change and understanding how different settings interact. It also highlighted the value of community support, as I was able to reference similar experiences shared by other users. If anyone else is facing similar issues, I recommend keeping a detailed log of your settings and observations to identify patterns and solutions more efficiently.
