Hub M1S Gen 2: No entry delay sound before alarm triggers

Hi everyone,

I have a setup with 2 hubs: an Aqara Camera Hub G3 and an Aqara Hub M1S Gen 2, both connected to the same Aqara Home account.

I’ve noticed that the entry delay countdown sound (the beeping that plays before the alarm triggers) only plays on the G3, which seems to be the “primary” hub managing the alarm. The M1S does not emit any sound during this countdown — it only flashes its light before sounding the full alarm once the delay expires.

This is a significant limitation in homes with multiple hubs in different rooms, as there is no audible entry warning from where the M1S is located.

My questions:

  1. Is there any way to configure which hub plays the entry delay sound, or to enable it on all hubs simultaneously?
  2. Is this a known limitation of the current firmware?
  3. Is there any plan to implement the entry delay sound on all hubs in a future firmware update?

This would be a very useful feature for anyone with multiple hubs. I’d love to hear if others have the same issue and whether Aqara has any plans to address it.

However, I think my question was not entirely clear, let me explain:

I already have both devices (G3 and M1S) selected in ‘Alarm Equipment’, which is why both sound correctly when the alarm triggers, as well as for the arming and disarming sounds.

The issue is specifically with the sound during the entry delay (the countdown beeps that play while the timer runs before the alarm actually triggers). During that period:

  • The G3 correctly emits the countdown beeping
  • The M1S only flashes its light, without emitting any sound

Is there a specific setting to make the M1S also emit the countdown sound during the entry delay, and not just flash its light?

Hi, I no longer have this gateway, but from memory I remember that there is a separate sound volume setting in the gateway. Check it out. This sound is related to the system sound M1S.

Hi, thank you for the suggestion.

I found the ‘bip’ volume setting in the M1S configuration and increased it to 100%. All system sounds are now louder on the M1S, but the entry delay countdown sound still does not play. The M1S only flashes its light during that period.

I also ran an additional test: I selected the M1S as the only alarm device (removing the G3), and the result is the same — the light flashes but no countdown sound is emitted.

This confirms that the issue is not related to volume or configuration, but is a firmware limitation of the M1S. The entry delay countdown sound is simply not implemented on this hub.

Can Aqara confirm whether this is a known limitation and whether there are plans to implement it in a future firmware update?
