Hub M3 / M1S: Variable Latency in Cloud Automations via Physical Button

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing latency issues with cloud automations on my Aqara Hub M3 (I also tested the M1S hub to rule out M3-specific problems).
The automation in question is triggered by pressing an Aqara wireless button to arm or disarm the “Away” security mode.

Problem observed:

The latency is not consistent: early in the morning or late in the evening the system responds instantly, while during daytime hours (e.g., between 10:00 and 17:00) the delay can reach up to 8 seconds between pressing the button and the audible activation.

Sometimes even disarming via HomeKit does not work correctly, showing the alarm as still armed in the app.

Tests and checks performed:

Tested on both Hub M3 and Hub M1S; same behavior even with a minimal Zigbee setup (1 sensor + 1 button about 1 meter from the hub).

Power supply tested with PoE and with original USB-C 5V/3A adapter; issue persists.

Replaced Ethernet cables, changed switch port, also tested with a separate modem/router to rule out local network issues.

Complete hub reset, removal of all devices and Aqara account, setup recreated from scratch.

The latency therefore seems independent of power, local network, or number of Zigbee devices.

Considerations:

Since the problem occurs only with cloud-based automations (pressing the physical button), it seems likely that the delay originates on the server side.

The issue is reproducible and depends on the time of day.

Questions for anyone experienced with Aqara:

Have you ever encountered similar issues with cloud automations?

Any suggestions for additional tests I could try would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!
