Hub M3 won't add

I am trying to add a new M3 Hub to my home. The light is blinking yellow and I am on the “Add Hub M3” screen and scan the Matter QR code. It says “Connecting” and I then get a screen that says “You are ready to add Matter devices”. At the bottom is a “Continue” button. When I press that it goes back to the “Add Hub M3” screen and it starts all over. It never adds to the app. I’ve done a 10 second press of the reset button, unplug and plug back in, etc. Nothing has helped. Any ideas? Thanks…

Hello, I don’t understand? The M3 gateway is connected to the house via WiFi. Please give me a screenshot.

I select the M3 at the top of the first screen. It goes to the next screen where I hit “Continue”, and on the third screen I hit “Next Step” and scan the Matter code. It immediately goes back to the 2nd screen and that loop continues no mater what I do.

Hello @RunLikeAnAntelope
You need to scan the aqara code, not the Homekit code but the Aqara code.

Go to these tabs and switch to another connection. I can’t tell you for sure, but there should be a switch from Mateia to another channel. Maybe someone else can tell you.

Guys, there is no matter code on the hub itself, there is only an Aqara code (magic pair) and a Homekit code. The matter code can only be found in the m3 plugin in Aqara home.

Thanks @Raman.V - that did it. I DID scan that code the first time but it popped up an error message. So I moved on to the Matter code where there was no error popup but of course no connection either. Thanks so much!

There is a Matter code on the back of User Manual.

It’s possible, but it’s not on the hub itself
I’m glad you managed to add the m3 hub to the app. And I’m glad I could help you with this :handshake:

I have the same problem with the original round white speaker hub I’ve had it for about 6-7 years, never had any problems and the last time it disconnected from my Internet it hasn’t been able to reconnect back to my network. I experience the same exact thing where it just continues in a loop never actually connecting, I’ve heard that one or some have different setup modes that may play a role in the issue but I haven’t been able to figure it out so I just give up waiting to get a newer version replacement but your comment doesn’t give me confidence.
Hope you have better luck.

Hello @DANEO214
You need to switch your hub from mi home mode to aqara home mode. To do this, press the hub button 10 times, wait until the hub starts talking and at that moment press the button on the hub twice more, the hub will boot up and be ready to connect to Aqara home.

I’ve heard about this 10x method but never heard the press twice when it starts talking, that’s the step I’ve been missing hopefully this solves my problem.
Thank you very much for this valuable information it’s greatly appreciated take care.
