After Hubitat saved the day at my condo, I was approached by the building management to help set up water sensors for the entire building. They wanted a similar setup to my condo, placing water sensors around the building and in individual units. In the event of moisture detection, they could unlock the door (August Lock) with the owner’s permission and resolve the issue. The building has 117 units spread across 13 floors, and I’m wondering if Hubitat is the right solution for this scale.
One of the key questions is how a centrally monitored Hubitat system would work. Should we use one Hub per unit or per floor with ZigBee repeaters? If each Hub operates on an isolated network, can they still be centrally monitored? Or would they need to be on the same network? I’m reaching out to the community for advice on the best approach to implement this system effectively.
I’m excited about the potential of Hubitat for such a large-scale project, but I need some guidance to ensure it’s set up correctly. Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
