After spending several days migrating devices from SmartThings to Hubitat, I’ve encountered a few hurdles, but also learned a lot along the way. My main focus has been integrating an iRobot Roomba with a Thinking Cleaner addon plate. While there’s existing SmartThings code for controlling it, it hasn’t been ported to Hubitat yet. I’m not deeply familiar with coding for Hubitat, but I’ve managed to get a basic on/off switch working, which is all I really need for now. If anyone has experience with this, I’d love to hear tips or advice!
Another interesting challenge was setting up a motion sensor to control lights. I wanted lights to dim to 20% when motion is detected, but only if another light isn’t already on. It took some trial and error, but I managed to create a rule that works perfectly. The satisfaction of seeing everything come together after troubleshooting is amazing!
I’ve also been impressed by the Hubitat community. When I encountered issues with delayed off functionality in rules, others were quick to explain how pausing and resuming rules work. It’s great to see such a supportive environment.
