I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting with my Hue bulbs and Sylvania LED strips, and I must say, it’s been an exciting journey! Setting up my studio with these devices was supposed to be a breeze, but I’ve hit a bit of a snag that I could really use some help with.
So, here’s the setup: I’ve got two Hue bulbs and two Sylvania LED strips all grouped under a single entity called “Studio”. My goal was to create three distinct scenes—“Beach”, “Recording”, and “Editing”—each with its own color scheme. The idea is that when I walk into my studio, the lights automatically switch to the “Beach” scene with a warm Savana Sunset hue and a touch of Seafoam Green from the LED strips. When I close the door to my audio booth, everything should dim to a cozy red, and when I sit down at my editing bay, the bulbs should shift to a cool blue.
I’ve spent hours tweaking the scenes, capturing the perfect colors, and linking them to my door sensors. But here’s where things get tricky: when I try to activate the scenes manually or through the door sensors, the Hue bulbs go all wonky—turning into a hot pink nightmare—while the LED strips behave perfectly. It’s like they’re having a mini rave while the rest of the system is trying to maintain some semblance of order.
I’ve double-checked everything: the groups are correctly set up, the scenes are saved, and the door sensors are recognized by the system. Yet, the Hue bulbs just refuse to play along. If I remove one of the scenes, the issue temporarily resolves, but it’s not a sustainable solution. I’m at a loss and really hoping someone out there has encountered something similar and can shed some light (pun intended) on how to fix this.
Any tips, tricks, or insights would be incredibly appreciated. I’m eager to get this sorted so I can fully enjoy the magic of smart lighting in my studio! Thanks in advance to everyone who takes the time to help out. ![]()
