Hue Go Battery Life and Automation Tips

Hey everyone, I wanted to share some insights and tips regarding the Hue Go and its battery life. I recently purchased a Hue Go for my stairway, which is a great spot since there’s no power outlet available. I’ve set it up using Zigbee2MQTT and integrated it into Home Assistant, but I noticed that after about two hours, it goes from standby to off and requires a button press to turn it back on.

To keep it active, I thought of setting up an automation that briefly turns it on every couple of hours and then turns it off again. This way, it avoids powering itself off. However, I have a few questions:

  1. Is there another method to maintain contact with the Hue Go without having to plug it into a power source?
  2. I’m assuming this means it’s in standby mode all the time. How will this affect its battery life and overall longevity?
  3. The Hue Go doesn’t provide a battery level indicator, so how can I monitor when it needs a recharge?

If anyone has experience with this or can offer some advice, I’d greatly appreciate it!
