Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into setting up my Hue motion sensor to control different scenes based on the time of day, and I wanted to share my experience and some tips that might help others who are tackling similar projects. ![]()
So, my goal was to have the bathroom lights turn on during the day and switch to a softer overnight scene at night. The motion sensor works great, and the automation responds well to motion—except for one little hiccup. If there’s additional motion while the stop timer is active, the lights turn off instead of restarting the timer. I’ve tried tweaking the settings and following various guides, but I can’t seem to figure out why it’s behaving this way. Has anyone else encountered this issue or have any suggestions? ![]()
One thing I’ve learned is how important it is to test thoroughly. I’ve been adjusting the cooldown period and the stop timer duration to see if that helps, but it’s been a bit of trial and error. I’d love to hear if others have successfully set up similar motion sensor automations and how they handled any unexpected behaviors. ![]()
In the meantime, I’m really impressed with how customizable the Hue system is. It’s been a fun project, and I’m excited to keep tweaking it until everything runs smoothly! Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer. Let’s keep the brainstorming going! ![]()
