Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation and wanted to share some experiences and tips I’ve picked up along the way. I’ve been using the Philips Hue app with HomeyScript to control my lighting scenes, and while I’ve had some success, there have been a few hurdles to overcome.
First, I wanted to mention the challenges I faced with controlling Hue scenes through HomeyScript. While I could set individual lights and even list available scenes, running the runFlowCardAction command for scenes or groups didn’t yield any results. After some troubleshooting, I realized it might be a timing or initialization issue. If anyone has successfully implemented this, I’d love to hear your approach!
Another topic I wanted to touch on is Zigbee network healing. I’ve noticed that after power outages, some of my Zigbee devices go offline and take a while to reconnect. I stumbled upon a solution where disabling and re-enabling the Zigbee network through the Homey interface helps bring devices back online quickly. It would be fantastic if there was a way to automate this process through a rule or script, especially since power outages are frequent in my area.
On a lighter note, I’ve been experimenting with creating custom lighting scenes using the Govee Curtain Lights. It’s been a fun DIY project, and I’ve managed to set up a structural stand that doubles as a festive decoration. If anyone has tips on optimizing these lights for different occasions, I’d be happy to hear them!
Overall, I’m really enjoying the journey of setting up my smart home, even with the occasional bumps along the way. It’s amazing how these devices can enhance our daily lives, and I’m excited to continue exploring new possibilities. Happy automating everyone! ![]()
