Humidity Monitoring and Automation: A Smart Home Journey

I’ve recently embarked on a smart home project, and one of the key areas I’ve been focusing on is humidity monitoring and automation. After experiencing some condensation issues in my home following new window installations, I decided to integrate a humidity monitoring system using Homematic. The goal was to ensure that the humidity levels in my home stay within safe limits as per the SIA 180 Swiss building standards.

I’ve set up a script that calculates the permissible humidity levels based on outdoor temperature, and it’s been running smoothly, updating data every 5 minutes and displaying it in DashUI. The system also sends an email every 6 hours if any rooms exceed the recommended humidity levels, prompting me to ventilate those areas. It’s been incredibly helpful in maintaining a healthy indoor environment!

However, I’ve encountered a minor issue with the automation blocking mechanism. While the script works well for monitoring, I’m still figuring out how to prevent the heating system from turning back on once the desired temperature is reached. I’ve shared my blueprint and automation setup in the community, and I’m hoping to get some insights or suggestions on how to refine it further.

This project has been a great learning experience, and I’m excited to continue exploring how smart home technology can enhance my daily life. If anyone has tips or tricks for improving humidity monitoring or automation, I’d love to hear them! :herb:
