I bought the FP300 over a month ago and have had terrible issues with it just not working. I’m new to this so I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong but no matter if I’m right in front of it or walking by it works for a day then just loses connection. I hope the FP400 stops the disconnects

The FP400 is meant to be a next gen upgrade to FP2, not FP300. It will be wired (not battery powered) and will support occupancy zones.
It will be much better at detecting presence (like the FP2), but is is prone to false positives like FP1E, FP2 and FP300, as a plus, it will be better at filtering them out.
What is your setup? Does it lose connection or doesn’t detect presence? Is it near a source of heat (like the oven, the radiator, the window)? Is it in Thread or Zigbee mode?

Which hub are you connecting the FP300 to? Zigbee or Thread?
Recent changes to the FP300’s Zigbee firmware caused issues like you are describing on third party platforms like Hubitat, Home Assistant, and SmartThings. I know the Hubitat custom community driver for the FP300 was revised to work with the latest FP300 Zigbee firmware. I believe the other platforms have also been updated as well.
Please provide a little more information about your current setup, as there may yet be hope to improve the reliability and performance of your existing FP300 sensor.

You can’t compare the FP300 not with the FP400
But for me the FP300 works absolutely great and it’s a super device

You should troubleshoot your issue, as the a newer iteration is unlikely to solve the core problem.
Give us more info on your set up. Which protocol are you using with your FP300? Do you have an Aqara hub? What ecosystem are you using it in?
