Hello everyone, I’m currently exploring the integration between my SmartThings hub and IFTTT, and I’ve encountered some challenges that I thought I’d share and see if anyone else has experienced similar issues or has solutions to offer.
I recently purchased a SmartThings hub along with some light bulbs, and while controlling them via the SmartThings app or my Google Home has been seamless, integrating with IFTTT has proven tricky. Every time I attempt to connect through IFTTT, I’m met with a ‘Could not connect SmartThings’ error. Despite entering my credentials correctly and ensuring my devices are listed, IFTTT doesn’t seem to recognize them. I can see IFTTT listed under SmartApps in the SmartThings app, but it’s as if IFTTT can’t see anything.
I’ve tried troubleshooting by re-entering my credentials, checking my device list, and even clearing my browser cache, but nothing seems to resolve the issue. I wonder if others have faced this and if there’s a workaround or a step I might have missed.
On a positive note, the integration with my Google Home and the SmartThings app has been fantastic. The ability to control my lights through voice commands or the app is incredibly convenient. However, the potential of automating more complex routines through IFTTT is something I’m really eager to unlock.
