Hey everyone! I wanted to share my recent success with integrating the new IKEA Åskväder plugs into my SmartThings setup. Initially, I was a bit skeptical since they didn’t show up as standard IKEA power plugs, but after some experimentation, I found that adding them as Generic Zigbee Devices worked perfectly!
Here’s what I did:
- Removed the default IKEA power plug addition option.
- Selected Generic Zigbee Device during setup.
- Tested the functionality, and it worked seamlessly!
I’m now using these plugs to control my entertainment system, and it’s been a game-changer. The ability to automate and integrate them into my existing setup has really enhanced my smart home experience.
If you’re considering these plugs, I highly recommend giving the Generic Zigbee Device option a try! It’s amazing how well they work without needing any additional configuration.
