I recently acquired the Ikea Floalt LED panels and integrated them into my OpenHAB setup using the Zigbee binding. While the basic on/off functionality works seamlessly, I encountered an issue with color temperature control. Unlike the Ikea Trådfri bulbs, which offer smooth dimming, the Floalt panels only support three discrete color temperatures. This was a bit disappointing as I was hoping for more nuanced adjustments.After some research and troubleshooting, I discovered that the key was to adjust the dimmer settings within OpenHAB to match the panel’s discrete levels. By mapping the dimmer slider to these specific points, I was able to achieve consistent and reliable control. It’s a bit of a workaround, but it works perfectly now!I’d love to see future iterations of these panels incorporate smoother dimming capabilities, allowing for a wider range of color temperatures. This would make them even more versatile for different lighting needs throughout the day.If anyone else has tips or experiences with similar products, I’d love to hear them!
