Hey everyone, I’m reaching out for some help with an issue I’m having with my IKEA motion sensors. I’ve been using them for a while now and they’ve been working perfectly, but today two of them suddenly stopped logging events in Home Assistant. It’s a bit confusing because the sensors still seem to be functioning normally—they detect motion and trigger the lights as they should. The only issue is that they’re not showing up in the logs anymore.
I tried rebooting Home Assistant to see if that would fix the problem, but it didn’t help. The last logged event was a few hours ago, and after the reboot, the sensors just went back to not logging anything. I checked the zigbee2mqtt logs and everything seems fine there. The sensors are still connected and sending data, but for some reason, the events aren’t being recorded in Home Assistant.
I’m not sure if this is a firmware issue or something else. Both sensors are up to date, and the rest of my setup is working fine. It’s just these two that are acting up. I’m hoping someone out there has encountered this before and can offer some advice on how to troubleshoot or fix it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
