Improving Hubitat Range in a Challenging Environment

I’ve been experimenting with my Hubitat setup, and I’ve hit a bit of a snag. I installed my Hubitat in the attic of my bungalow house, which has about 5 cm of fiberglass insulation. While most devices work fine, I’ve noticed that the Aeotec Door/Window Sensor 7, located about 8 meters away behind two concrete walls, struggles to communicate reliably. The device works well in short-range tests, but the range issue persists in this setup.

I’ve considered using a range extender, but it seems like I’d need separate ones for Zigbee and Z-Wave devices, which could get a bit pricey. I’m curious if others have faced similar challenges and what solutions they’ve found effective. Have you tried any specific range extenders or repeaters that worked well for Hubitat? Or maybe there are placement tips or signal-strengthening techniques that could help in this kind of setup?

It would be great to hear about your experiences and any creative solutions you’ve come up with. Let’s see if we can crack this range issue together! :rocket:
