Improving Shelly Device Connectivity and Wi-Fi Range

Hello community, I’ve been diving into optimizing my Shelly devices’ connectivity, and I thought I’d share my journey and insights. I’ve got six Shelly Plus 2PM units controlling a awning, and while most are rock-solid, one occasionally drops its Wi-Fi connection. It’s been a bit of a puzzle, but I’ve learned a lot along the way.

First, I noticed the RSSI fluctuates between -76 and -78, which seems marginal. I’ve wondered if the Eco-Mode could be affecting the connection stability. Has anyone else experienced this? I’ve also considered using a Range Extender, but I’m not sure if it would help since the devices already have unstable connections.

Another angle I’ve explored is adjusting the Wi-Fi Roaming settings. I’m curious if tweaking these could lead to more consistent connections. The current RSSI threshold is set to -80, so maybe lowering it could help maintain a stronger link.

I’ve also looked into the possibility of firmware updates or configuration tweaks that might improve stability. It’s a bit overwhelming with so many variables, but I’m determined to find a solution.

For those dealing with similar issues, I’d love to hear your strategies or tips. Have you found any settings or devices that made a significant difference? Let’s collaborate to keep our Shelly devices running smoothly!
