Hello everyone, I wanted to share some of my recent experiences and tips regarding system stability and sensor adjustments in a smart home setup.
Over the past few months, I’ve been working on optimizing my system to handle unexpected crashes and ensuring my sensors work seamlessly. One issue I encountered was with my motion sensors frequently triggering due to my cat’s movements. After some research, I discovered that adjusting the sensitivity settings on my Aeotec Multisensor 6 made a significant difference. It now reliably detects human movement while ignoring my cat’s nighttime wanderings.
Another area I focused on was system stability. I came across the concept of a hardware watchdog, which can reset the system if it freezes. While I understand that a robust system shouldn’t need this, it’s been a helpful temporary solution for me. I’d love to hear others’ experiences with watchdogs or alternative approaches to preventing system hangs.
I’d also like to share a tip for those dealing with similar sensor issues: experimenting with different sensitivity levels and detection zones can really fine-tune your setup. It’s all about finding the right balance between responsiveness and false triggers.
If anyone has additional tips or has successfully implemented a watchdog solution, I’d love to hear about your experiences!
