Improving Two-Way Voice Volume on Qolsys IQ Panel 2+

Hello everyone, I’ve been using the Qolsys IQ Panel 2+ for a while now and I must say, it’s been a great addition to my home security setup. The two-way voice feature is particularly impressive, allowing me to communicate with the monitoring center directly from my panel. However, I’ve noticed an issue that I’m hoping the community can help me with.

The problem I’m facing is with the volume of the two-way voice function. While it works perfectly in a quiet room right next to the panel, the volume becomes too low in noisier environments or when I’m not standing directly in front of it. This makes it difficult to hear the operator clearly, especially during the day when there’s more background noise.

I’ve had a few alarm events since setting up my account, and today was the first time I actually heard the two-way voice. It was a relief to finally interact with the operator, but the incoming volume was still too low. I suspect that the two-way voice was activated in previous events, but the volume was so low that I couldn’t even hear it. This makes me wonder if others have experienced the same issue and if there’s a way to increase the volume level for two-way voice.

It seems like the volume should be significantly louder to be heard over ambient room noise and when not immediately in front of the panel. I’m curious if there are any settings or configurations I can adjust to boost the volume. Maybe there’s a firmware update or a specific setting within the Qolsys IQ Panel 2+ that I haven’t discovered yet.

I’d love to hear from anyone who has encountered this issue and found a solution. Whether it’s a software tweak, a hardware adjustment, or even a workaround, I’m all ears. Ensuring clear communication with the monitoring center is crucial, and I want to make sure my system is as effective as possible.

Thank you in advance for any advice or insights you can share. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other optimize our home security systems!
