Hey everyone, I’m new to the world of home automation and I’m trying to set up Home Assistant on my Windows machine using VirtualBox. I came across Simon’s guide on installing HA with VirtualBox and decided to give it a shot. However, I’m running into some issues during the installation process.
First off, I followed the instructions to install Visual C++ as a prerequisite for VirtualBox. That went smoothly, but now I’m stuck at the VirtualBox installation step. I’ve tried reinstalling it multiple times, but nothing seems to work. I’m wondering if there’s something I’m missing or if there’s an alternative approach I can take.
I’ve also noticed that my system is running Windows 10, and I’m not sure if there are any specific settings or permissions I need to adjust for VirtualBox to work properly. I’ve checked online for solutions, but most of them suggest things I’ve already tried, like enabling virtualization in the BIOS or checking for driver updates.
