Both are aqara products and the furnace the thermostat will link to is a carrier. The carrier has another wiring harness coming in to it. My question is - do I put the wires coming from c adapter when previously they were spliced and not going straight to 24 volt common bar. Not sure what to do.
What type of Carrier system? And what is the thermostat you are replacing?

I finally got it done. What does it mean logging in or trying to access certain devices and it says bad gateway?
Describe your wifi network to me. How is it set up? Any firewalls or DNS filters?
Do you see the thermostat on your network? Can the thermostat reach the internet? Bad gateway (probably some kind of 5xx error code on the backend) usually means something between you and the servers is not letting it through or slowing it down enough that it completely stalls.
As you probably saw, Aqara had a server outage which is likely what caused your bad gateway errors.
