Installing Zigbee2MQTT on RaspberryMatic: A Smooth Experience

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience installing zigbee2mqtt on my RaspberryMatic setup. It’s been a fantastic journey, and I’m really glad I took the plunge into this project!

I started by ensuring my RedMatic add-on was updated to V7.3.5 or higher, as mentioned in the prerequisites. Once that was sorted, I set up Mosquitto as my MQTT broker, which was a breeze thanks to the detailed guides available. The installation process itself was surprisingly straightforward, and I was up and running in no time.

One of the best parts was integrating the zigbee2mqtt web interface into my system control panel. It’s so convenient to have everything in one place! I also appreciated the frequent updates to the web interface, which have made troubleshooting and configuration much easier.

I must admit, there were a few bumps along the way, especially with getting the USB port handling just right. But thanks to the active community and detailed documentation, I was able to resolve those issues quickly. The ability to backup configurations before updates is a huge plus, giving me peace of mind.

Overall, I’m thrilled with how zigbee2mqtt has enhanced my smart home setup. It’s been incredibly reliable, and the integration with my existing ecosystem has been seamless. If you’re considering this add-on, I highly recommend giving it a try. The community support and continuous improvements make it a fantastic choice for anyone looking to expand their smart home capabilities.

Happy tinkering everyone! :rocket:
