Hello everyone, I’m currently in the process of setting up my new home security system and I have a question regarding compatibility. My home currently has an ADT system with wireless sensors but hardwired power, which includes an internal backup system. I’m looking to upgrade to a new IQ panel, but I’m wondering if there’s a way to utilize the existing wiring instead of relying on the AC adapter that comes with the IQ panel.
While I don’t have any specific experience with this type of integration yet, I’m curious to hear if anyone has successfully done something similar. Is there a straightforward method to adapt the existing wiring for the IQ panel, or would it require additional hardware or modifications? I’m trying to avoid adding unnecessary clutter with extra adapters, so any insights would be greatly appreciated!
Additionally, if anyone has tips on ensuring a seamless transition while maintaining the reliability of the backup system, that would be fantastic. I want to make sure that the switch doesn’t compromise the safety and functionality of my home security setup. Thanks in advance for any advice or experiences you can share!
