Hello everyone, I’m thrilled to share my recent journey in integrating Amazon Alexa with my CCU2 system to create a seamless smart home experience. My goal was to use Alexa as a Radiowecker to control my Bose Soundtouch 10, replacing my old setup. While the Bose integration was straightforward with CCU2 and CuXD, Alexa posed a few challenges.
I discovered that the Alexa app doesn’t natively support Radiowecker functionality, so I turned to a workaround using a script to trigger Alexa via CCU2. I followed a guide by Gehrig, which involved using a Curl command, but I struggled with getting the script to work properly. I tried several variations, but it kept failing, leaving me puzzled.
After some research, I found a community forum where others had faced similar issues. It turns out that the Curl command syntax was the culprit. With some adjustments and testing, I finally got it to work! Now, Alexa seamlessly integrates with my CCU2, allowing me to control my Bose system effortlessly.
This experience taught me the importance of community support and the value of persistence when troubleshooting. I’m grateful to everyone who contributed to the forums and provided solutions. It’s amazing how a little tweak can make such a big difference!
If anyone else is attempting a similar setup, I’d be happy to share my script and any tips I’ve learned along the way. Happy automating!
