Hey everyone, I just wanted to share a fun project I recently worked on. I stumbled upon an old soda machine that’s been sitting in my garage for years, and I decided to give it a new life by integrating it with my Hubitat setup. The best part? Now I can ask Alexa for a cold one whenever I want!
So, here’s the deal: I’ve had this soda machine for ages, and after the kids moved out, I thought, why not put it to good use? I wanted to control it through my voice assistant, but I wasn’t entirely sure how to go about it. After some research and a bit of tinkering, I managed to connect it to my Hubitat ecosystem. It’s been a blast!
I’d love to hear if anyone else has done something similar or has tips for improving the setup. The wiring process was a bit tricky, but the satisfaction of saying, Alexa, may I have a beer is worth every moment of frustration. I’m curious if others have integrated unique devices like this into their smart homes—let’s share some stories!
This project has been a great way to combine nostalgia with modern tech, and I’m excited to see how far I can push it. Maybe next, I’ll try automating the ice maker too! ![]()
Cheers to creative automation! ![]()
