I’ve been on a journey to enhance my smart home setup and recently decided to integrate Aqara devices with the SmartThings app. While exploring this, I stumbled upon some challenges but also found some great solutions that I’d like to share with the community.One of the first hurdles I encountered was compatibility. I initially thought the Aqara E1 Hub would work seamlessly with SmartThings, but it turns out it’s not directly supported. After some research, I discovered that purchasing a budget-friendly SmartThings hub was the way to go. It allows me to connect all my Aqara devices without breaking the bank.Another interesting point is the variety of Aqara products available. I was initially limited to certain devices in the SmartThings app, but with the right setup, I managed to add radiator thermostats and the Aqara button.
