Hey everyone, I’ve been having a bit of trouble with my Aqara door sensor and Alexa integration. Let me share my experience and see if anyone can help!
I recently purchased an Aqara door sensor and integrated it into my Homey setup. It works perfectly there—whenever I close the door, it turns off the lights connected in the Homey app. But now, I want to use this sensor with Alexa. Unfortunately, Alexa isn’t detecting my door sensor, which is a bit frustrating. My goal is to have Alexa play some UK radio stations via the Global Player app when the door closes.
I’ve tried all the suggestions I found online, like deleting and reinstalling the Global Player app, but nothing seems to work. The error messages I keep getting are about not being able to connect to the internet or find the Global Player. It’s been a consistent issue for the past six months, and I’m really hoping someone here can shed some light on this.
I’ve also noticed that updating Alexa and all its associated devices hasn’t resolved the problem. I’m starting to think it might be related to the Global Player app itself, as I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews about it. But since it’s the only way I can stream UK radio stations, I really want to make this work.
