Integrating Blink Cameras and Mimolite Device for Enhanced Security

Hello everyone! I’m thrilled to join this community and share my experiences with smart home technology. I’ve been experimenting with integrating various devices into my smart home setup, and I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences on a few topics I’m currently exploring.

First, I wanted to talk about my experience with Blink cameras. I’ve been using them for a while now, and I’m really impressed with how they’ve helped me keep an eye on my home. However, I’ve noticed something a bit puzzling. My older Blink cameras are still recording beautifully, but my newer ones aren’t recording at all. I’ve heard that Blink now requires a subscription for recording, but I’m really not interested in paying for that. Does anyone else have the same issue, and have you found a workaround? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Another topic I wanted to discuss is my recent experiment with integrating a Mimolite device into my smart home setup. I’ve connected it to my Honeywell alarm system, and it’s been working well in terms of triggering lights when motion is detected. However, I’ve encountered a bit of a snag. While the Mimolite shows up as an indicator in SmartThings, I can’t seem to get it to work within the security and notification system. My goal is to receive phone notifications whenever the Mimolite is triggered, but I’m not quite sure how to make that happen. If anyone has experience with this or can offer some guidance, I’d be incredibly grateful!

Here’s a quick overview of my Mimolite setup:

  • Connected to the Honeywell alarm system
  • Using the bell connection as a signal
  • Triggers lights successfully
  • Shows up as an indicator in SmartThings

I’m really excited about the potential of this integration, and I’m hopeful that with some advice from the community, I can get it working as intended. It would be amazing to have a seamless security system that not only alerts me but also provides visual cues through my smart lights.

I’d also love to hear about your experiences with integrating different devices and any tips you have for getting the most out of your smart home setup. Whether it’s cameras, sensors, or something else entirely, I’m always eager to learn!

Looking forward to hearing from you all and hopefully finding some solutions to my current challenges. :rocket:
