Hello everyone!
I’ve been diving into the world of smart home audio lately, and I wanted to share my experiences and some questions I have. I recently came across the Sengled Pulse speaker light bulbs and the LED+ GE speaker lights, which seem like a great way to integrate whole-house audio without too much hassle. They’re Bluetooth-enabled, which is a huge plus, but I’ve hit a bit of a snag when it comes to integrating them with my existing smart home setup.
I primarily use Hubitat for my home automation, and while I love its flexibility, I’ve found that it doesn’t have native Bluetooth support. This means I need a workaround to bridge the Bluetooth speakers into my Hubitat ecosystem. I’ve heard that some users have success with Raspberry Pi setups, turning them into Bluetooth-to-WiFi bridges. I’m curious to know if anyone has tried this and, if so, what their experience was like. Was it worth the effort, or are there more streamlined solutions available now?
Another angle I’ve been exploring is whether there are any off-the-shelf devices that can act as Bluetooth bridges without needing to tinker with Raspberry Pis. I’d love to hear from anyone who’s found a reliable product or service that makes this integration seamless. Also, if anyone has tips on how to ensure the audio quality remains consistent across different rooms, that would be fantastic to know!
On a related note, I’ve also been looking into using these speakers for notifications through Hubitat. While the idea is appealing, I’m not entirely sure how to set this up. If anyone has successfully configured their system to send notifications to Bluetooth speakers via a bridge, I’d be grateful for any guidance or scripts they could share.
This journey has been both challenging and rewarding. It’s amazing to see how much control and customization I can achieve with the right setup, but it’s also a reminder of how much there is to learn in the world of smart home tech. I’m really grateful for communities like this one, where I can bounce ideas off others and learn from their experiences. If anyone has any insights or advice, I’d love to hear them!
Thanks for reading, and happy automating! ![]()
