Integrating Cameras and Smart Plugs for Unified Control

I’ve recently been exploring ways to streamline my smart home setup, and I thought I’d share my experience with integrating multiple devices into a cohesive group. One of my goals was to combine my front-yard cameras with the Wyze smart plugs controlling my outdoor lights. This way, I can access all relevant devices in one place, making it easier to monitor and control them without switching between different groups.Initially, I wasn’t sure how to group devices of different types. After some research, I discovered that using the Picture Elements card in Home Assistant allows me to customize the layout and include various entities. I set up a custom card that displays my cameras and the Wyze plugs side by side. This setup has been incredibly handy—now, I can check the camera feeds and adjust the lighting with just a few taps.Another challenge I faced was ensuring consistent performance. I wanted all devices to update in real-time without lag. To achieve this, I made sure all devices were on the same network and configured the integration settings correctly. It took a bit of tweaking, but the result is seamless integration.I’d love to hear how others have organized their devices. Have you found any particularly effective methods for grouping different types of devices? I’m always looking for new tips to enhance my smart home setup!
