Hi everyone! I wanted to share my experience with integrating door sensors with my thermostat to help manage energy costs. At my rental property, I noticed that people often leave doors open, which can really drive up the AC bills. I decided to replicate a system I saw on an old Alarm.com setup, where the thermostat pauses if any door is open.
I’ve been researching how to do this with Wyze equipment, but it seems like there’s still some work to be done in terms of full support. I currently have an Amazon Thermostat, but I’m open to switching if needed. Ideally, I’d like the thermostat to automatically adjust to 90°F when any door is open and revert back once all doors are closed.
Has anyone successfully set up something similar? I’d love to hear about your setups and any tips or tricks you’ve discovered. It would be great to find a reliable solution that doesn’t require constant monitoring. Thanks in advance for your insights!
