Integrating Elro Connect with Z-Wave in Home Assistant

Hey everyone! I’m really excited about my latest home automation project. I recently got my hands on the Elro Connect K1 Connector (SF40GA) and I’ve been trying to integrate it with my existing Z-Wave setup in Home Assistant. The device itself is pretty sleek—it connects via Wi-Fi and allows me to control my fire alarm system through the ELRO Connects app. But I wanted to take it a step further and bring it into my smart home ecosystem!

The challenge I faced was figuring out how to set this up in Home Assistant. After a bit of research, I discovered that there isn’t a native component for Elro Connect yet. However, I found some great resources online that gave me a starting point. The device connects via Wi-Fi, which makes it a bit tricky since most of my other devices are on Z-Wave. But I’m determined to make this work!

I stumbled upon a GitHub repository that provided some insights into how others have integrated similar devices. It looks like there might be a way to use MQTT or a custom integration to bridge the gap between Elro Connect and Z-Wave. I’m planning to dive deeper into this and maybe even contribute to the community if I can find a solution.

One thing I’m particularly impressed with is the pricing—only EUR 39.99 for the connector. It’s definitely a cost-effective way to add more functionality to my smart home setup. I can’t wait to see how this integration will enhance my security system!

If anyone has experience with similar setups or knows of any resources that could help, I’d love to hear from you! Let’s make this integration happen together.
