Integrating Enecsys Gateway with Homematic: A Smooth Experience

I’m thrilled to share my recent success in integrating my Enecsys gateway with Homematic! :tada:

For those who might be curious, my setup includes a few solar panels, two Enecsys micro-inverters, and the gateway itself. The gateway communicates with the inverters and sends data to Enecsys’s server every minute. While this setup works seamlessly with Enecsys’s platform, I wanted to take it a step further by integrating it with Homematic for more customized automation and monitoring.

Initially, I faced the challenge of accessing the gateway’s data directly. After some research, I discovered that using a third-party software like Aloaha Solar Collector allowed me to pull data from the gateway. This software provided me with real-time metrics such as CurrentOutPutTotal and CurrentOutPutPerInverter, which were exactly what I needed.

The next step was to figure out how to feed this data into Homematic. I explored various methods and eventually found a way to parse the data collected by Aloaha and push it into Homematic’s system. This integration now allows me to monitor my solar energy production in real-time within Homematic, enabling me to set up custom rules and notifications based on the data.

Seeing this integration work perfectly has been incredibly satisfying. It not only enhances my home automation setup but also provides me with a deeper understanding of my energy consumption patterns. I’m now able to optimize my energy usage more effectively, which is both environmentally friendly and cost-efficient.

If anyone else is working on similar integrations or has tips on optimizing data flow between different systems, I’d love to hear about your experiences! Let’s continue to explore and share our findings to make our smart homes even smarter! :rocket:
