Integrating Energy Sensors and Smart Scheduling Tips

Hi everyone, I’m excited to share my recent experiences with setting up energy sensors and creating smart schedules in my home. I’ve been working on integrating energy sensors from multiple sources—both mains and a generator. The setup has been a bit tricky, but with the help of the Shelly 3EM sensor, I’ve managed to track energy consumption effectively. I created a binary sensor to switch between mains and generator based on voltage levels, which has been working well so far. However, I’m still exploring the best way to cycle through tariffs accurately. If anyone has tips or alternative methods, I’d love to hear them!

Another project I’ve been working on is setting up a smart schedule for my plug-in devices. I want the plug to turn on every 4 hours for 30 minutes, but only when the house is occupied. As a Vera newbie, this has been a learning curve, but I’ve managed to create a basic schedule. I’m now looking into adding occupancy detection to make it more efficient. If anyone has experience with occupancy sensors or advanced scheduling techniques, please share your insights!

I also stumbled upon a common issue where devices get hidden in the app interface. I accidentally hid some devices and couldn’t find a straightforward way to restore them. After some research and reaching out to the community, I found a solution, but it was a bit frustrating. It would be great if there were more visible options for managing hidden devices. If anyone has tips on device management best practices, I’d appreciate it!

Overall, these projects have been both challenging and rewarding. I’m enjoying the process of learning and customizing my smart home setup. Thanks to everyone in the community for the support and resources! Let’s keep sharing and learning together.
