Integrating Etekcity Outlets with Lutron Caseta Pico Remotes

I’ve been diving into the world of smart home integration, and I’m excited to share my journey with you. I recently acquired some Etekcity Wi-Fi outlets, which I’ve successfully integrated with Google Home. However, I wanted to explore a more seamless and hands-free experience without relying solely on voice commands. Enter the Lutron Caseta Pico remotes—I have a few extra ones lying around, and I thought they could be the perfect solution for controlling my Etekcity outlets.

The challenge here is that the Etekcity outlets aren’t natively compatible with Lutron Caseta wall switches, which would have made this integration much smoother. Since I’m on a budget, I’m looking for creative ways to make these devices work together. I’ve heard that it’s possible to use the Pico remotes as standalone controllers, but I’m not entirely sure how to set this up. I’m hoping the community can offer some guidance or share their experiences with similar setups.

One thing I’ve noticed is that the Etekcity outlets are visible on Google Home but don’t show up in my Hubitat ecosystem. This makes me think that there might be a way to bridge the gap between these two platforms using the Pico remotes. I’m curious if anyone has successfully used the Pico remotes to control non-Caseta devices and how they went about it.

In the meantime, I’ve been experimenting with different configurations and scripts to see if I can get the Pico remotes to trigger actions on my Etekcity outlets. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but I’m determined to figure this out. I’d love to hear if anyone has tips or tricks for making this integration work smoothly.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences!
