Integrating Fibaro Motion Sensors with Temperature Offset

Hello everyone, I wanted to share my experience with integrating Fibaro motion sensors into my smart home setup. While I love the reliability of these sensors, I noticed an issue with the temperature readings—they didn’t seem to align with my expectations. Unlike my SmartThings sensors, which allow for a temperature offset adjustment, the Fibaro sensors didn’t offer this feature out of the box. This discrepancy was a bit frustrating, especially since accurate temperature readings are crucial for my home automation routines.

After some research and experimentation, I discovered a workaround. By leveraging the VeraLite controller and the MIOS binding in OpenHAB, I was able to create a custom rule that adjusts the temperature readings from my Fibaro sensors. This involved a bit of trial and error, but the end result was well worth the effort—my smart home now provides accurate and reliable temperature data, which has significantly improved my overall experience.

I’d love to hear if anyone else has faced similar challenges or has alternative solutions to share. It’s always inspiring to see how the community comes together to solve problems and enhance our smart home setups!
