Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with integrating Google Assistant and IFTTT to control my smart devices. I recently set up my Broadlink RM Pro with two switches—one for my TV and another for my fan. While I can easily control the TV via voice commands, the fan hasn’t been as straightforward. Both switches work perfectly through the HA frontend, but I’m curious if there’s a better way to get Google Assistant to trigger the fan switch using IFTTT.
I’ve heard about using webhooks as a potential solution, but I’m not entirely sure how to implement them. If anyone has experience with this or can offer some guidance, I’d really appreciate it! It would be great to have a seamless voice control setup for all my devices. ![]()
On another note, I’ve been exploring the use of custom sensors for messaging apps like Signal. I came across a helpful guide that explains how to set up a custom sensor in Home Assistant to receive messages. It’s been a fun project, and I’m excited to see how it can integrate into my daily routine. If anyone else has experimented with similar setups, I’d love to hear about your experiences!
Lastly, I’ve been trying to figure out how to display multiple controls for my Yamaha entity on my dashboard. I’ve seen the controls in the preferences, but they don’t all show up when I add the card. If someone knows a workaround or has tips on how to make this happen, please share! I’m sure there’s a way to make it work, but I’m still searching for the right solution.
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing from you all! ![]()
