I recently found myself in a situation where I had both Google Home and Alexa devices set up in my home, and it was a bit of a puzzle figuring out how to make them work seamlessly together without overlapping or causing confusion.
One of the challenges I encountered was with my Hue lighting system. I had it connected to both Google Home and Alexa, which resulted in duplicate entries for almost every light. It was a bit overwhelming, and I wasn’t sure how to streamline the setup. After some research and experimentation, I discovered that the key was to designate one platform as the primary controller and use the other as a supplementary tool. This approach not only reduced the clutter but also made managing my lights much more straightforward.
Another interesting project I’ve been working on is automating my backyard lighting for Father’s Day. It’s been a fun way to get creative and set the mood with some festive decorations. I’ve been using my Govee lights to add a warm glow, and it’s been a hit with the family!
