Hello fellow smart home enthusiasts! I’m excited to share my recent experiences integrating Google Home with Home Assistant and setting up monitoring for my Generac generator. 
Google Home Configuration
I’ve been trying to configure my Google Home mini to say a single word using Google TTS in Home Assistant. While it was a bit tricky at first, I managed to get it working by adjusting the automation settings. Here’s a quick tip: make sure your trigger and service calls are correctly formatted in the configuration.yml and automation.yaml files. If you run into errors, checking the logs and ensuring the media player service is properly exposed can help! 
Monitoring the Generac Generator
Another project I’ve been working on is monitoring my Generac generator. Thanks to the genmon package, I can now track everything from utility voltage to generator RPMs. I even set up MQTT sensors to feed this data into Home Assistant. It’s incredibly reassuring to know my generator is running smoothly, especially during power outages.
